Create a Photowall with Metal Panels
Metal panels provide an easy way to create a Photowall. Just Put the panel up, then put your Fridgis and photos on the panel. You can use a single large metal panel (available for hardware stores & metal merchants) or you can use several smaller metal panels. Smaller panels can be easier to put up and they give your flexibility in the size and shape of your photo wall (see the Fridgi Photowall Panel>> system for a simple smaller panel system).

Metal Panels are great for large wall areas and down hallways.

4 simple steps – Create a Photowall with Metal Panels.
Step 1 Decide position & size.
Step 2 Mark out where you are going to put the panel(s). Use masking tape, string or pencil.
Step 3 Put up the panel(s). If using several panels start at the bottom middle, then work you way up.
Step 4 Place your photos & Fridgis on the panel. It’s easy to try different frame arrangements on a Metal Panel Photowall as you can move the frames around until you have a configuration you like.
Where do you get large metal panels? Most large hardware stores will have some metal panels. Try Googling “buy sheet metal – your city” a common standard size sheet is 8×4 and is available in white.

Advantages of a Metal Panel Photowall
- Provides a cost effective method to create a large Photowall.
- Smaller metal panels provide a simple modular solution and you have flexibility in size, shape & layout. It’s also easy to add panels over time (see the Fridgi Photowall Panel>> system)
- There are several methods available to attach a panel to a wall; adhesive (liquid, double sided tape, removeable tabs) screws or nails.
- Frames are held in place by magnets.
- Easy to move photos
- Easy to change photos
- Frames are less than 3mm thick so they barely stand out from the wall.
Limitation of Metal Panel Photowall
- Tools may be required if you are putting up a single large panel. Fridgi Photowall Panels are designed to be easy to put up and can be put up by one person without tools, in a few minutes. Putting up a panel with tape or adhesive is easy and you won’t require any tools. We do recommend if you are building a large Photowall you physically attach the panels to the wall, the larger the panel and the more frames you have on display the heavier it will be.

Innovative ideas for the Creative
- Create an actual frame around your metal panel to focus attention in on the Photowall. You can use 4 pieces of stained timber to do this.
- Have a series of panels for a long space, like your hall or stairway, have each panel tell a story, by year or by event.
